At the Beltway 8 South CPC, many clients come seeking or are at high risk of procuring an abortion. As evidence of their intent, a large number of them have already had abortions. The sad part is few have any understanding of what the procedure entails, the numerous risks involved, and the emotional scars that can haunt for years to come.
Nurse Manager, Bette Robertson, tells the impact of the ultrasound image upon a woman making a difficult choice. A view into the womb reveals the life of her unborn child.
In 2003, we were blessed with a volunteer Medical Director and given a twenty-year-old restored ultrasound machine. The Lord answered many prayers, and all things came together for the Center to become a limited medical facility with a licensed RDMS sonographer. One of our steadfast volunteers renewed her RN license and came on staff as our Nurse Manager.
In February 2006, Focus on the Family contributed $28,000 toward the $35,000 cost of a new machine. Another extremely talented RDMS came to serve, and today we have two more RNs in sonographer training. This allows the Center to show at risk pregnant women their baby within 6 weeks of conception every hour we are open to clients. In January 2014, the See and Believe Fund contributed $25,000 toward a new $35,000 ultrasound. The resolution of the view into the womb is incredible. Prayerfully, many more women will be protected from enduring the aftermath of abortion, and the lives of their unborn will be saved.
